Featuring a striking punk design, Ardbeg Ardcore, also nicknamed “Punk Rock”, pays tribute to Islay's rebellious past with a nostalgic reference to “Punk Ellen”, the iconic port of the 1970s. This special edition celebrates the festive spirit of June 4th, marking the close of the Islay Fèis Ìle 2022 festival, where whisky and music meet in an authentically rocky atmosphere, far from the screens.

Ardbeg Ardcore represents a revolution in the world of peated single malts. Aged in ancient Bourbon casks, this whisky derives its uniqueness from the distillation of a black malt, where the grain is subjected to high temperatures, creating a roasting process similar to that of coffee or cocoa. This delicate process requires constant monitoring, as any rise above 250°C can turn the malt into charcoal, or even cause a fire.

This process, rarely used with peated whiskies, gives Ardbeg Ardcore its unique personality. Expertly mastered, this single malt reveals intense notes of cocoa balanced by nuances of charcoal and sweet smoke. The result is a fiery, spicy and surprising whisky, a sensory experience in its own right.
