Renowned British rock singer and songwriter, Sir Rod Stewart CBE, has taken his first steps into the spirits industry with the launch of Wolfie's Blended Whiskey. After two years of extensive research and development, this whiskey was introduced to the British market, then to the United States, and is now being launched in the French market.
Working with his business partner and long-time drinks expert, Duncan Frew, Stewart created this Blended Scotch Whiskey by partnering with the Loch Lomond Distillery, whose origins date back to 1772.
“The Loch Lomond distillery is one of the oldest and most respected in Scotland, and we wanted to work with only the best,” Stewart said. “Fortunately, they have been very generous in allowing us to do numerous tastings – for professional purposes, of course. »
Made on the banks of Loch Lomond, Wolfie’s is a blend of grain whiskey and malt whiskeys, offering a lightly peaty and smooth final blend, with notes of comforting cinnamon, fresh vanilla and baked apples. It also has delicate touches of sweet peat and syrupy pears, followed by a finish marked by candied citrus peels and sweet oak spices.
This whiskey, both playful and sophisticated, is designed to be enjoyed fully in the present moment.
Drawing inspiration from the singer's Scottish heritage and his reputation as a "Cockney Scotsman", Wolfie's also draws its origins from Stewart's early days in the world of rock'n'roll with The Faces.
“My Scottish roots on my father’s side have always been a source of pride for me. Scotland has been my second home for decades,” Stewart said. “I have a deep love for this country, and what could be more Scottish than whisky!” »
