The Komos Extra Añejo tequila undergoes a minimum 3-year aging process in a combination of French oak barrels previously used for white wine and American oak barrels previously housing whiskey, creating an expression of utmost refinement.
Following Komos' tradition, this tequila is crafted in Mexico from 100% Blue Weber agaves, handpicked from various terroirs in the Tequila Valley in Jalisco. The piñas are cooked in traditional stone ovens, then the aguamiel is naturally fermented and double-distilled in copper stills. After this process, it is then aged in carefully selected barrels and meticulously blended to create an opulent tequila, unveiling notes of dried orange peels, candied ginger, and roasted pecans. A final touch of gentle aeration is applied, a winemaking technique that allows the liquid to absorb oxygen to soften and enrich the mouthfeel, adding an additional depth to its character.
The ceramic bottle, handcrafted by artisans, is designed with sustainability in mind, with the possibility of being recycled. Each one is unique with its own reactive glaze, and its turquoise color evokes the splendor of the Mediterranean while faithfully preserving the precious aromas and flavors it contains.
