Château Gardut Haut Cluzeau, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux 2020 - 75cl
Just a stone's throw from the Médoc, on the right bank of the Gironde, 2 kilometres wide, are the vineyards of the 'Premières côtes de blaye'. The ferry crossing takes no more than twenty minutes. We arrive in the small, friendly town of Blaye, dominated by its large citadel. We then head towards Bordeaux along the D937 and after about 4 kilometres we see the picturesque village of Cars with its colourful church tower and extensive vineyards on our left. We could spend hours here enjoying the peace and quiet... but that's not why we came, we came to taste the delicious wines of Château Gardut Haut-Cluzeau from Mr Denis Lafon and his friendly wife. It's awfully hot (over 36 degrees) during this second week of July and Mr Lafon is happy to be able to leave his vineyard to let us taste some of his wines in his cool little tasting room. Denis Lafon's wines are among the elite of the appellation, as evidenced by the many medals he has won. Château Haut-Cluzeau will successfully accompany most of your classic meals and will be at its best between its 2nd and 6th or 7th year.
