Dr. Bill Lumsden carefully selected the grain blend used as the base for the liquid: 51% rye and 49% malted barley, a rare offering in the world of American whiskey. He then combined traditional whiskey-making techniques to create SirDavis, a whiskey with an elegant texture and a mouthfeel reminiscent of Japanese and Scottish whiskies, while maintaining the robust and deep flavors typical of American rye.

Tasting notes:

Color: Antique copper

Aroma: Zesty bitter oranges meld with the sweet taste of sun-dried raisins, while clove, cinnamon, and ginger spices contrast with notes of cane sugar and caramel.

Taste: Rich, buttery caramel is followed by a range of spices including cinnamon, clove, and a classic rye aroma. This is followed by soft notes of malt and biscuit and a citrus top note.

Finish: Honey notes meet a smooth and lingering finish reminiscent of sultanas and ripe cherries.

SirDavis is a tribute to Davis Hogue, the co-founder’s great-grandfather, who was a farmer and whiskey bootlegger in the southern United States. Four generations later, this legacy takes shape.

To orchestrate this creation, Moët Hennessy called on Dr. Bill Lumsden, an award-winning and respected master distiller known for his work on the Scottish whisky brands Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.
