This chronograph, made in collaboration with Jürgen Clauss, is Swiss Made, featuring a genuine Valjoux 7753 described as "new old stock." It is not a movement freshly out of automated factories, but indeed an original mechanical chronograph, never used, rediscovered by Depancel, set to a "bicompax" configuration, and fully restored.
An approach filled with authenticity and passion, perfectly aligned with Jürgen Clauss's ethos, who for three decades has breathed new life into his berlinettes—often purchased in conditions nearing a wreck.
150 "LUCKY DRIVERS"
This fervent passion is once again celebrated by Depancel. Few will remember this is actually a second edition, as the first, released in just 300 units two years ago, sold out within 24 hours. In order to preserve the rarity and value of this inaugural piece, Depancel and Jürgen Clauss waited two full years before creating a new iteration. But exclusivity comes at a price: this time, there will only be 150 units, intended for 150 particularly lucky gentlemen drivers.
Why lucky? Because this piece sets its horological standards much higher. Already, it is a chronograph—the first ever made in collaboration with Jürgen Clauss. It answers his aspirations of highlighting his passion for driving, whereas the first iteration evoked its lines and design.
THE INSPIRATION OF A MAN AND A PASSION
Jürgen has injected the driving elements of his passion here. His signature. The blue of his favorite model. The two chronograph pushers are rimmed like two pistons.
Depancel's signature strap replicates, in its insert, the leather pattern of bucket seats, a pattern also engraved on the oscillating mass of the movement visible at the back of the watch through its sapphire case back. Even the profile of his headlight can be found in the seconds counter.
MATERIALS THAT WITHSTAND ANY CHALLENGE
Robust 316L surgical steel case protected against corrosion, scratch-resistant sapphire glass, leather or metal strap: each detail has been thought out to ensure this watch accompanies enthusiasts in all their daily adventures.
